BRIEFING: Welcome and introduction

The guide welcomes the group at the starting point in Vieux Lyon. Introduction to the district, its history, and the tour itinerary. For groups of more than 12 people, the group is divided into subgroups, each led by a dedicated guide to ensure the quality of the experience and close contact with the artisans.

Departure into the alleys and traboules of the Renaissance district. The guide tells you the history of Old Lyon through a light and easy-to-digest tour featuring many unusual anecdotes, far from monotonous and conventional visits. 

🧀 Tasting breaks with our artisan partners

At each key stage, the guide opens the door to a partner artisan from Lyon. Butcher, cheesemaker, chocolatier or wine merchant: each artisan presents their products, talks about their craft and their connection to Lyon's culinary tradition. The tastings are accompanied by commentary. The number of stops varies depending on the duration chosen for your group—from 1 to 5 breaks depending on the program. They can constitute an aperitif or a full meal.

You will have the choice between: an assortment of regional cheeses with a glass of white wine, a selection of local cured meats with a glass of red wine, traditional Lyon dishes in a "bouchon lyonnais", praline tart or brioche with hot or cold drinks, a pairing of fine chocolate and local dark beer, artisanal ice creams from Ardèche, specialties and sweets from Lyon... etc.

Upon request, the tour can be extended with lunch or dinner at an authentic Lyonnais bouchon. A customized formula is available by omitting the starter or dessert (to account for a food tour taken before or after). A convivial moment in the intimate setting of a true bouchon, far from tourist traps and in the spirit of Lyonnais tradition.
