The best of both worlds in a single experience. Old Lyon and Fourvière on foot, the banks of the Rhône and the Presqu'île by e-bike — Lyon in all its diversity, mixing the pleasures.

Discover all of Lyon by mixing pleasures

Why choose between the depth of a walking tour and the freedom of an e-bike ride? The combined tour brings both together in a single 2.5- to 4-hour experience — the ideal formula for groups who want a comprehensive and contrasting view of Lyon without limiting themselves to a single neighborhood or a single way of exploring.

The first part of the tour takes place on foot in Old Lyon. Historic Lyon, accessible exclusively on foot in all its density, is brought to life by a passionate local guide who takes you where GPS apps cannot go. The second part switches to an electric bike for a dynamic exploration of the banks of the Rhône, the Tête d'Or Park, the soft-mobility tunnel, and the Presqu'île—contemporary and vibrant Lyon, covered in a minimum amount of time without the slightest effort.

Two atmospheres, two rhythms, two faces of Lyon — just one tour. This is the formula we recommend to groups discovering Lyon for the first time who want to leave with a real and complete understanding of the city.

How does a combined tour work?

📍 BRIEFING — Welcome and departure briefing

The guide welcomes the group at our Old Lyon location. Presentation of the program and division into two parts — one group starting on foot and one group starting on an electric bike. Fitting, getting in the saddle, and we're off.

🏰 Old Lyon on foot

Departure into the alleys and traboules of the Saint-Georges, Saint-Jean, and Saint-Paul districts—the largest Renaissance architectural ensemble in Europe after Venice. The guide recounts the history of Lyon's silk trade, the Florentine merchants who built these buildings in the 15th century, and the traboules—those covered passageways that cross through buildings from courtyard to courtyard. Each passageway reveals a surprise: spiral staircases, flower-filled inner courtyards, and unusual views of the neighborhood's rooftops. A discovery filled with a host of anecdotes, far from standard, monotonous tours.

🚲 Lyon by e-bike

Set off to discover a large part of Lyon. Starting along the banks of the Saône, which offer a magnificent view of the Fourvière hill, before arriving at Place Bellecour, and then taking the banks of the Rhône, which are fully equipped for bicycles. Next, head towards the Parc de la Tête d'Or for a ride in the city's green lung. Upon leaving, head towards the Croix-Rousse soft mobility tunnel or Place des Terreaux depending on the route, before finishing at the Fresque des Lyonnais, the city's most famous painted mural.

🔄 Group inversion

After 1 to 2 hours (depending on the chosen formula), we switch the groups. The walking group gets on bikes and the biking group starts walking.

All about the combined tour of Lyon

Yes—it’s actually the ideal format for a half-day team-building event in Lyon. In just 3 hours, your employees will enjoy two complementary experiences in the city’s most iconic neighborhoods—a complete break from the work environment that naturally fosters team cohesion and creates lasting memories. The tour can be scheduled in the morning before the afternoon work sessions, or at the end of the day before the group dinner. Please specify your time constraints in your quote request, and we’ll tailor the program accordingly.

Lyon is a city of many faces — and the combined tour is the only formula that reveals them all in a single experience. In 3 hours, your participants journey through 20 centuries of history on foot in Old Lyon, then switch to electric bikes to explore contemporary Lyon along the banks of the Rhône, the Tête d'Or Park, and the Presqu'île. Two modes of discovery, two atmospheres, two rhythms — a complete and contrasting vision of the city that no other formula can achieve in such a short time. This is why we systematically recommend it to groups discovering Lyon for the first time who want to leave with a real understanding of what makes the city's richness and identity.

For the walking portion, Old Lyon and its traboules offer plenty of natural shelter along the route—light rain does not prevent the tour and often adds a special atmosphere to the district. For the cycling portion, we operate in overcast weather and light rain. In the event of bad weather making cycling dangerous, we offer either to postpone the cycling portion to a later date, or to do the walking portion only. We make this decision in consultation with you the day before the tour.

The walking tour alone focuses on Old Lyon and Fourvière — a dense historical and heritage immersion, ideal for groups who want to understand medieval and Renaissance Lyon. The bike tour alone covers contemporary and natural Lyon — riverbanks, parks, tunnels, Presqu’île — in a dynamic and effortless format. The combined tour does both in sequence, with a natural transition between the two parts from our Old Lyon shop. This is the formula that provides the most complete view of Lyon in a minimum amount of time — recommended for groups discovering the city for the first time or who want a discovery experience that is as rich as it is varied. It also allows groups with people who are not comfortable on a bike to participate in the activity with the walking portion.
